Nishi-Nippori is located in northeast Tokyo near Ueno and is accessible via the JR Yamanote Line. Surrounding the station are many restaurants, cafes, and quaint shops giving the neighborhood a traditional feel. Nearby points of interest include Yanaka Ginza featuring a Showa-era style Japanese shopping street with winding roads amongst shops and izakaya (Japanese bar/restaurant). Ueno Park, Zoo, and many museums are less than a kilometer away with other major attractions such as Akihabara within a 9-minute train ride.
